About the Workshop
Language Technologies for Crisis Preparedness and Response (LT4CPR) focuses on speech and language technologies that support crisis preparedness, disaster risk reduction, and crisis response, especially in settings with linguistic diversity, low-resource languages, and informal communication channels.
The workshop aims to bridge NLP, local languages, and real-world humanitarian impact. It will feature invited talks, a panel discussion on strategic priorities and shared infrastructure, and a shared task on automatic situation report ("sitrep") generation from crisis-related social media. LT4CPR will be held on November 9, 2026 as part of AACL-IJCNLP 2026 in Hengqin, Zhuhai, China and online.

We welcome humanitarian organizations, NGOs, community-based organizations, emergency-response teams, public agencies, field experts, and other practitioners working on crisis-specific causes to share field experience or propose a talk.
